Alison Wright is an English actress. She was nominated for the Emmy Awards in 2017 in her role of Martha Hanson, the star of FX's historical spy series The Americans. In addition, she has appeared on her role on the Ryan Murphy limited series Feud: Bette & Joan and Hollywood. Wright was born in Sunderland on the 12th of July 1976. She was raised in Sunderland by her adoptive family. She began dancing and acting at a young age. She studied at New York City at The Barrow Group and the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Her waitressing job was interrupted with auditions for roles in various parts. Scuba diving was one of her hobbies which was a love of hers, when she suffered a cardiac incident at sea, which put her in a in a coma. A few days later, she died in peace, at the side of her loved ones the bedside. Wright was born in Sunderland in Tyne and Wear on July 12th, 1976 was raised by her parents who adopted her. She began dancing and acting at a young age. She was educated at the world-renowned Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute as well as The Barrow Group in New York City.
