Srushti began preparing for the UPSC test in her third year of studying engineering. She questioned whether engineering was an appropriate career path for her. Once she realized her goal, she began to work in civil service. She was urged by her parents to go after a civil service career and to prepare for tests. Her motivation never waned as she remained focused in her pursuit to become an IAS. Achieving UPSC takes more work. When she was preparing in her engineering courses and other classes, she also used to study for different subjects of UPSC. Every day, she set aside the time to study for exams. She spent only one month working on the test and kept completely off of Facebook and other social media in her lives. She believes that focusing is crucial to pass the government examination and be an official in the civil service. She wanted to pass this test on her first attempt and put in a lot of work. In order to stay up-to-date on the latest news, she used to regularly browse through the newspapers. Also, she got lots of support online by collecting study materials and viewing Rajya Sabha TV.
